Motif tests are intended to be run by a suitably qualified testers. You are suitably qualified if you have been trained to administer and interpret the results of reading tests with children. You are encouraged to critically consider whether you are qualified to administer the test.

Some professions that would likely require suitable training:

  • Teacher
  • Reading Clinician
  • Psychologist
  • Speech Pathologist
  • Reading Researcher / Scientist
  • Audiologist
  • Special Ed Teacher
  • School Counsellor

If I'm not qualified, how can I become qualified

Macquarie University Reading Clinic runs professional development courses on administering all of the Motif tests. Email reading.clinic@mq.edu.au for more information.

If I am a parent who is home schooling my child, can I administer this test?

This test is intended for qualified professionals to run. We recommend you contact a reading clinician, speech therapist or psychologist to arrange a reading assessment for your child, that includes the CC2.
