Can I update Date of Birth or grade data that was entered incorrectly?

Q: I incorrectly entered the birth year or school grade for one of my students when setting up one of the Motif tests. I can see how to edit results, but cannot see where to edit subject details. Is this possible? And will the results be recalculated with the updated birthday?



A: 

Prior to starting a test session with a child, it's possible to edit the subject ID and the date of birth or grade from the Test Log. This won't consume a new results sheet.


Once you have started the test session with the child, it is no longer possible to edit the subject details. 


It's possible to use the PDF version of the tests to complete a lookup of the norms for the subject based on the correct date, if you use the itemised results. This is a normal workflow for the print / downloaded version of the tests.


If it's important for you to have a digital version with the correct subject details, we recommend the following workaround for obtaining the correct results for the child: 

  • Prepare a new test with the correct data for the subject
  • Use the itemised list in the report of the original test with incorrect details to re-enter the marks for the new test session.
  • Your new test session will have accurate norms / results displayed.


This will provide you with an updated report. Unfortunately this incurs the cost of two test sessions at this time.
